Opentext Forum

Post by FRBhote » 03 Apr 2017, 07:34

From what I see on the opentext forums is that every query has been requested to open a ticket.

So what's the point? We'll never figure out what's happening!

Request everyone who opens a ticket to inform us here also as to what is happening.

Cheers!

I fully agree.

Besides the fact that a lot of people can not even access the OpenText forum, questions or defects posted there should be informative for the poster but also for other readers.

It is obvious that if you have active support contract (GLS), you are entitled to ask OpenText for any questions and able to report any issues.
That can be done completely private, using their Ticket system. So you already have all the support you need, it is payed for.

The purpose of a forum is discussion and information exchange between people.
Responses like "create a ticket" is the perfect way to move interesting information to obscurity, to have everything as tickets and not available for others.
I do not see any purpose in having a forum at all then.
Just create a ticket straight away and leave the forum alone. Waste of time.

So I agree that everyone should still create posts on OpenText forum, create their tickets as asked and keep posting the ticket info/defect numbers and responses from OpenText to the thread. And also posts the info here in this forum so that non-GLS users are aware and benefit from valuable info.

Agree.

I actually stopped posting bugs or feature request on the OpenText forum.
As I have the GLS, I just open a new ticket, and when I receive the TD-xxx bug number, I post it here.

+1 Seems that OpenText fails to see the benefits of being developer-friendly. This doesn't end well..
