TD-23782: xmllib.apl can't be used in .NET Projects (TD 7.0.3)

Post by Masta82 » 05 Oct 2017, 14:31

With TD 6.3.2 it was possible to compile an application as a .NET Class Library, even if the xmllib.apl was used in the project. After migration to TD 7.0.3 we receive the Error "Duplicate Symbol: HTTP_GET".

A test application is attached.

I do not have a solution to your v7 issue with HTTP_GET but here are a couple more facts about the details:
>> Your test case also fails to compile with the original release of TD v7.0.0 with the same error msg.

>> As you found with TD v6.2, your test case -- when back-converted -- compiles OK with TD v6.3 as well.

Conclusion: I don't have access to Gupta/Open Text's bug database so maybe Dave R. or someone else can check if this compile error has already been reported, especially since it shows up in the original v7.0 release too. Another TD user else should have seen and reported this issue already, I would think.

Hi,
since xmllib.apT contains nothing but File Include xmllib.apL,
just create a new File with TD7, inklude xmllib.apL and save it as xmllib.apT.
Then it compiles.
The difference in the resulting file you can see when you open it with a text editor.
The failing apt has an additional block of non visual code that looks like

Code: Select all

.data DT_MAKERUNDLG
0000: 1400001000000000 FFFEFF00FFFEFF0A 58004D004C004C00 690062002E006500
etc...
02A0: 0000000000000000 00DA000000FFFEFF 0001000000000000 00FFFEFF00000000
02C0: 00
.enddata

You forgot to change the Build Settings to .NET Application. Then it can't be compiled any more.

Yes, I can see this issue also.
You need to report this to OpenText Gupta using an official ticket.
If you do, please post the ticket and TD defect number here please.
