TD-23331: WM_Command not send when menu ID > 24576

Post by Dave Rabelink » 10 Mar 2017, 07:52

This defect is present on:

TD 6.2
TD 6.3
TD 7.0

(TD 6.1 and lower are ok)

When using WinAPI to create menu's, the expected WM_Command message is not fired in the application in specific case.
On selection of menu items, the WM_Command message notifies which item was clicked so that the application can execute the appropriate functionality.

The message is "eaten" by TD when the menu identifier exceeds the value 24576.
ID's below that value are processed correctly.

(menu ID's could have a range of 0 to 65,535).

Use testcase.
Select button to display menu. Some menu items have ID's larger than 24576.
Select menu items to display the menu ID in the datafield.
See that > 24776 are not processed. The WM_Command is not fired in that case.
(though Windows actually does send the msg. TD eats it)
