Are there any plans to add a new Tab Control, like the TD 5.0 TabBar and the
SalTab* Functions to TD 5.1?

New Tab-Control will be in 5.1. Also looking into having tabbed toolbars
and Office 2007 ribbon toolbars.

Hi Martin,

You have responded to every question except the open source part of 5.0
:-). Ok, i will put in one last request here...

Is Gupta considering making something out of that source?.
Is it not possible to continue your 4.x plans and at the same time see
if some revenue can be generated 4-5 years down the line out of the 5.0
cross platform source with the help of the open source community?.

It will be nearly 5 years before an open source TD can threaten Gupta.
It will take a long time to make it stable, workaround 3rd party
components like QIce and make it backward compatible.

I hope Gupta atleast responds considering so many have requested it.
Even if you say "No"?

Lot of people call it buggy. But its actually a reasonable product which
is not finished. The time estimates are messed up and you are forgiven
for that. I mean its not an architecture mess like Vista was in 2004.
So it might be possible for the open source community to salvage
something and help Gupta/Unify generate some revenue 4-5 years down the
line.

Best Regards
Yoda

You probably won't like the answer but we cannot open source TD for
Linux, it includes lot's of commercial software parts that cannot be
made available in open source form.

Will any form of Team Developer for Linux remain available? Maybe rename it
"Linux Developer" and release it as a separate product?

Dear Martin,

Whether or not we like the answer, it is an answer.

Thanks for the answer!

Bud
