Hi every one!
I am trying to migrate SQLBase v11.02 data files to SQLBase 11.5 but I
keep getting error.

When I run SQLTalk command:
INSTALL DATABASE TCGTSTX4;
Everything seem to be OK. I can see database name appeared in SQLBase
Server Console GUI.
But when I try to run command:
CONNECT TCGTSTX4 sysadm/somepassword;
I recive this:
Error: 00401 DBA COD Cannot open database
When I look into SQLBase Server Console GUI database name has disappeared.

The fail.sql (below) indicates some errors:

SQLBase v11.02 database file installation problem on SQLBase v11.5

Hi Jurij,

It sounds like there is some kind of possible corruption in your
database. Maybe. Try an unload and then a load. Do the load into a test
database and have it log the load to a file so if it fails you can see where
it fails. If it does, you can try to correct the problem in the live
database (after doing a backup) and/or in the unload file. Make sure to
read the instructions about upgrading your database with the unload/load
method.

Hope this helps,

Clifford Bass

SQLBase v11.02 database file installation problem on SQLBase v11.5

Hi Jurij,

You will need to edit the unload file (again, make a backup first), and
fix/remove the offending statement. Is it really trying to create the same
view or synonym? Or is there something else going on? I use JuJuEdit for
editing large unload files. You can get it from
http://www.jujusoft.com/software/edit/. Note that the load into 11.5 of an
older unload file reportedly converts LONG VARCHAR to LONG VARBINARY, which
may cause you a problem.

Hope that helps,

Clifford Bass
