There was already a forum: Centura Solutions
http://www.tek-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?SPID=430&CFID=23268805&CFTOKEN=1921
5130 for some time but it does not seen to be supported. I see no
improvement with this new forum.

Tek-Tips Centura Support

Rajesh,
It will only be as good as those who participate. Seems that Oracle and
SQLServer get plenty of support from their users but then if you go to their
newsgroups there is a much larger number of posts. It does perplex me at
times the number of unanswered posts for help here though I have received
help once that really did me good. I would hope that users could help each
other better in a different interface. The people at Tek-Tips called me (I
was shocked!) after I suggested the post and were not familiar with Centura
and definitely not SQLBase.

Tek-Tips Centura Support

Dave,

This newsgroup is provided by Centura to give users a place to exchange
ideas and help each other out. It is not an 'officially supported' site
that is checked regularly by Centura staff, although some of us do check the
forums on our own time.

Tek-Tips Centura Support

It's true Mike itsn't a supported tools but i think that it is not a good idea
to let but announces not treated by centura people ... and you know i got a
support contract before but the only response i got after long explanations to
support people was it's a bug wait for next ptf ... for 8'000 CHF the year ...
sorry but it is not a great deal.

It is normal that you don't support people on newsgroup on using centura
products. But i think it is normal (and is good marketing) to take care of bugs
and offer workaround or ptf .

Tek-Tips Centura Support

I think there is a big misunderstanding on my stance as to the support at
this newsgroup. I never expected this to be a Centura supported forum, the
same as the Oracle and SQLServer are primarily User supported with input
from the developers appreciated. However, there is no other support, other
than paid, at the Centura site and I tried to recommend to Tek-Tips and this
forum an alternative that may be used as well. Apparently nobody has been
interested as there has been no action there so I guess I will just let it
rest. I do not plan on replying to this thread anymore due to the cross
posting, but may start one at gingival forums. Again, I am sorry for
causing any fuss or upsetting anyone with my attempt at helping however
misguided it was.
