Hi,

Please find attached a revision of the GUPTA's New Newsgroup Guidelines (version1.1), that supercedes the version attached in the Welcome post.

Thanks,

Revised Newsgroup Guidelines

I jump on the remark I made the 12 january in the "New Newsgroup Structure"
thread, about attachments.

It's a good thing IMHO you have put aside your idea to create an attachment
forum, because it's already hard to find some old discussions, I would have
break my nerves if I had to find the attachment on another forum too... but
by reading your guidelines, I saw you kept the rule of banning attachments ?

Ok great, now how are we supposed to do to exange informations ? I mean.. if
I understand things well, we can't put an attachment for the community
anymore ? I don't count the number of times I found a discussion which
helped me, and where I could find a very usefull attachment. Especially on a
forum like source code. Such file really a problem with nowadays connections
? After all if I follow a discussion, there is good possibilities I'll be
interested by the attachment too.

I'm sorry, I'll not respect this guideline if I think an attachment could
help some other people and I really hope others will do the same.... because
it would keep me from precious help, and when you are on a project, you just
don't have time to mail the person you think could be able to bring you a
needed file... if you can join him. Banning the attachment is like saying
"you can use this car but you'll never have to use the second gear since the
noise could bother other people"

Just my 2 cents... I understand such file cause sometimes a little delay
when you want to read a message, but you're healing a headache by cutting
the head here...
