Installing WAM

Hi all,

what the `?%&ç% do I have to check in the fantastik installation program
(TD4)in order to have CWAPi40.dll installed on my PC ?

Every time I try and start the «Gupta Web App Manager 2005» service it says
that it cannot find cwapi40.dll (and it is right ! there is no such file on
my PC)and has an error on loading library qwebi40.dll)

I have tried almost everything (I had to entr the `?%&ç%, `?%&ç% PMC
something like 10 times today) but with no luck (thanks again Gupta for
being obliged to enter this `?%&ç%, `?%&ç% code even if installation was
already done once).

If someone would be so kind to send me this file (I hope this is the only
one «forgotten» by the super fantastick and super slow and super buggy
installation program) I'd be realy thanksful ;-)

TIA
Mirko

PS If someone might think (because of the way this mail is written) that I'm
a bit upset, well, he is totally right !!!! <g

Hi Mirko,

First of all the file you are speaking is cwisapi40.dll and not cwapi40.dll
.The reason why you are facing this problem is because your machine may not
be having IIS installed. The cwisapi40.dll file will be copied to your
system only if you have IIS installed on your machine. So, I suggest that
you first install IIS to the default directory on your machine and then
install WAM so that the dll gets copied. If you follow these steps, then the
dll can be found under "C:\Inetpub\Scripts". I think this may solve your
problem. Just give a try.

If you have already installed IIS, then what is the path that you have
installed. Is it the default path or have you choosen some other path.

Regards,
Shyam

Hi Shyam,

The file I was speaking about is INDEED cwapi40.dll (just depWalk into
qwebi40.dll and you'll see that ;-).

IIS was (and still is) installed INDEED on the PC.

The problem, I belive, is the installation program
:-[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[

Thank anyway
Mirko

PS If someone would be so kind to send me this file...

Hi Mirko

Here is a copy of the file from our installation.

I also agree that having to type in the PMC every time very annoying

Mirko,

I just spent 3 days figuring out the exact same thing - and no thanks to
Gupta's non-existing Web Developemnt Installation Guide -

If you are interested, ( for future reference ) let me know

John
