Hello everyone,
My TD3 has installed on traditional chinese windows XP,and I can run web
sample file:shareable well, but when I change the value (in the database not
on screen) into chinese characters ,ie6.0 will pop out a box that said
'losing right parameter >' .(e.g. change product table's column : style
value(from database not keying on screen) into some chinese character then
run shareable sample again,you
will see 'losing right parameter >',Is it a bug? Please Aswer that, thanks.

I'm not sure if it is a bug. A few questions, though:
What database are you using?
What encoding is being used when you modify the database?
Have you tried setting the encoding of the web page (AppendToPageHead)
because the default is unset?
Have you tried modifying the encoding of the XML Table (override method
GetXMLAttributes)?

There was a bug(that was fixed) that had to do with sending characters not
in ISO-8859-1 via the XML Tables Updates/Inserts.

I modify the data directly from english words into chinese characters in
table island in sqlbase 8.0,
then I run shareable sample again, it doesn't work fine and pops a box said
'losing right parameter >' .I never modify the code of shareable.exe, even
shareable.app,I just change a word from english into chinese characters in
style column of isalnd ,so I don't understand what XML or encoding
works. This problem is proposed one year ago,but your collegues
all said that works fine in his english windows OS(but mine is Chinese
window OS) ,but this problem is still there.I thought I am delight to see my
CTD web system to show chinese characters,I hope someday it happens!!
regards

teddy,

That was me who responded to you last year.
"Out of the Box" you cannot display non iso-8859-1 character sets reliably.

Firstly, the html needs to tell the browser what character set is being used
so that it can display it correctly. If you view multi-language (or in your
case chinese) web pages and examine the source, you will notice that in the
tag there is a tag which contains a characterset declaration.
This need to be added to your html pages. You can do this by calling
AppendToPageHead on your Form Window and send the tag that you
require.

Secondly, you need to tell the XML Parser which character set you are using.
This is done by overriding the GetXMLAttributes method of the table window.

Lastly, it is important to understand what character set was used, when you
modified the data and possibly what tool was used to modify the data,
because you will need to use this same characterset in your web page.

If you tell me what characterset the data is, if you send me a database
unload of the data with this characterset, I will try to show you what needs
to be done to Shareable to display the characters you desire.
