Publishing on server - files

Post by FRBhote » 16 Sep 2016, 13:15

There are 2 very large folders which are generated when an app is published:

platforms\android\build\tmp and
platforms\android\build\intermediates

being about 30 MB.

Are these folders needed to be uploaded to the server after every build?

Hi,
Are you building app for Android? OR are you building normal browser app?

In My understanding, if you use android then it generates the filename.apk where you publish this in the android as presentation layer.

For normal browser, your folder is still same and will get published as before.

we do not need to worry about this files as this could be intermediate files while building .APK.

one more thing,
Make sure that your web folder and cordova folder paths are different.

I'm publishing for android. Wonder if the cordova folder needs to be there.

there is no change required in IIS deployment and continue to do the same thing as you were doing for normal browser app. And, Android package APK should be deployed in Android and this will hit your IIS server for retrieving and posting the data.

all other files are either development file or SDK of android and no need to copy it to anywhere.

I was inexperienced and made the cordova folder within the app folder. So when a publish happens, it publishes (or should I say copies) all the files and sub-folders within the app folder.

I will try without the cordova folder.

Thanks.
