Certification requirements for Windows Desktop Apps

Post by wapi001 » 05 Mar 2016, 23:14

Hello,

I have some general questions about "Certification requirements for Windows Desktop Apps" from Microsoft as you can read here:
https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/wind ... 74655.aspx

My questions are:
- has anyone in the forum already done this or tried to do this?
- if yes, how big is the effort for this? Especially on existing (older) applications.
- do you have to pay something to Microsoft?
- how long does it take until you get the certification?

The background of my question is, that we were asked by a costumer if it is possible to certificate our software by Microsoft. So I would be pleased to read some experiences others have made
I hope that my question is not "off topic"

Best regards
Werner

It is, that you can display the Windows logo on your product.

I thought "Windows Logo" certified and "Windows App Store" certified were two different things.
