TD office365 email issue

Post by joeprivacy1 » 12 Jun 2023, 12:32

We recently converted to Office365. Our users can send and receive email.
However in our TD gupta apps are getting an error sending outlook emails. Is there something I need to change in the quickmail properties or in office365?

Pic of error.

not sure but just check this - your office 365 in 64 bit and your TD app in win32. Can you check this?

office 365 is in the cloud via smtp so I don't think its that. i wonder if it's mapi or .eml association. Or change quickmail to salmail.

But anyway I'm using a workaround to send email msgs.

other note: does anyone have a SalMail example?

Nevermind I've solved it using a C# program call in gupta to pull up outlook.

I tend to think that the Gupta developers themselves, who programmed the SalMail class, do not have a working SalMail example against office365.

Anyway, here I dare to guess that TD74 (and probably also TD75) is still a real disaster when sending e-mails...
A good example of how NOT to do new things - no example, incomplete/non-existent documentation and what is happening in the so-called "bear's belly", i.e. there is no approximate source for the code.
However, this part of the code could be openly accessible via git and users could also add own modifications for the benefit to others. Today's situation is that OpenText is doing something, maybe even something cool, but it all fades away because the end user can't use it because they don't get full understand how things actually work.

I would recommend that you open a technical support case at OpenText for this.
TD becomes better if we developers open technical support cases and report bugs or feature requests.
I opened more than 25 technical support cases in the last 2 years for TD 7.4.x
Many things have already been fixed/enhanced and most of the other will be fixed/enhanded in TD 7.5...

Regards,
Rainer

Sorry for the delay, I kind of forgot about this post. I just had gupta write to a database table, then using a csharp program that ran as a windows task every 15min to pickup and send any unsent email (an not failed), took some ideas from www.c-sharpcorner.com/article/sending-e ... g-c-sharp/

Hi guys.
I do a call to a GO sendmail program I found on GITHUB. Two versions for 32 and 64 bit. Download and launch: non installation. SSL TSL attacched files and so on. No problem, at the moment.
