Graphics Server with Gupta application (Bits Per Second)

Post by gkonczal » 03 Mar 2010, 09:57

Hi, first of all sorry for my english :)
I have Gupta TD 3.0 with SqlBase 8.5 and Graphics Server 5.
I have long experience in databases, but none in drawing graphs.
And now I have to draw the graph based on data from the database. I use QuickGraph.
I looked through different (few) examples, but none does not fully meet my needs.
I try to describe what i do and what i need.
For example there are ca 800 point in the table in my database.
X - distance [m] ; Y - force value [kN]
-130 ; 0
-129.9 ; 0
-129.8 ; 1.3
-129.6 ; 1.2
-129.6 ; 1.8
-129.4 ; 2.4
-129.2 ; 1.9
-129.4 ; 1.9
... ; ...
-45 ; 7.9

I set the various variables and i Draw graph (scatter or line).

My problem:
on the X-axis in QG there are x-value (text) or number of points (numeric).
I want there were the values of the x-axis, but at regular intervals:
-130, -120, -110 ...
What should I do, which table (XPos?) and how should I fill in my program to achieve this effect.
It is very urgent for me, my boss already angry that so long that I do. Please help!

Generally, the easiest way to help in a situation like this, is to attach a sample test TD appl. of what and how you are coding.

Ideally, it should not need a database; hopefully, you can hard-code some of those x/y values you list in your msg. Having some code to 'play' with is often easier than just reading a text msg. Let's make your boss happy!! Let's see what you are doing.

By the way, your English is very good!!

Hi, Jeff! Thank you for your interest in my problem. I have lost hope... :)
If you still want to help me (and make my boss happy ;)) I send the materials to the test. I know, there is a mess in the program
I hope I prepared all the necessary files. I will be grateful for any hint.

Hi! I did it!!! :D First of all I fill properly XPos[] and NumPoints (monit16w.app). Default is 5. But I change it and it seems to be ok. Now I have to develop the next issue, because I still have a lot to do in this program.
I would like to thank you for moral support. Awareness that there is someone who wants to help me was very important to me. Thank you very much!
Best wishes from Poland
