SQL Server connection fails running as .NET WPF Desktop

Post by ivano_osti » 02 Feb 2011, 20:48

Hi.

It is the 1st time I try to connect to SQL Server running as .NET WPF Desktop.

Well, it is failing to connect to the database.

The same application running as Win32 Standard .EXE works fine.

See the connection dialog error when running as .NET WPF Desktop:
SQLServerDotNetConnectionFailed.JPG
If I'm not wrong, the documentation says that there is NOTHING to do because it is automatic. See:
SQLServerConnection.JPG
I need help with that...

Attached my sql.ini

Thank you.

Your sql.ini [odbcrtr] does not contains remotedbnames. It need to have any entry like remotedbname=sqltest, dsn=sqltest where sqltest is a User DSN created in ODBC Administrator.
WIN32 application maybe working if there exist old gupta.ini in c:\windows with dsn entries, that is not honoured in WPF.
