Call a TD6.0 function to access Oracle using ASP.NET

Post by Eagle » 24 May 2011, 19:05

As we read this article "http://blog.guptatechnologies.com/td60/ ... os-et-all/". We've got an idea to use ASP.Net as a GUI to get inputs and display outputs for our traditional product that build from the old version of Team Developer instead of build it into WPF Browser Application.

However, the problem occurs when I try to use TD6.0 function access to Oracle Database using ASP.Net Reference to DLL file that build from TD 6.0 SP1 then we cannot access to oracle database. The error "The database connection is currently closed". We try to connect oracle both using sql.ini and .udl file.

But, If this function use in WPF Window Application that build from Visual Studio and reference to TD6.0 DLL, It can connect to oracle database.

What wrong in this situation to connect Oracle Database in ASP.Net using DLL from TD6.0

From the link above, it has source example about mobile web application to connect to SQLBase Database.

Can someone give us a example to access an Oracle 11g Database using DLL from TD6.0 and use ASP.Net as only display output.

Thanks

May need a test case to help answer your question, but I'll pass your issue along to the dev. guys so see what they say.

FYI, I heard back from internal tech help group and another t/s engineer, JM, provided a sample that might help you with your question. The sample connects to SQLBase ISLAND so you will need to modify it for Oracle.

Here is what JM wrote in responding with this sample:
The <TD developer> did a nice ASP .NET sample that render WEB page for iPhone / IPAD like
So you have those components :
-IslandProxy : a very very simple TD assembly just connecting to ISLAND doing minor select etc… (see the bin dir for source)
-A VS2010 project : the ASP .NET consuming the IslandProxy TD assemblies

...modify IslandProxy to connect to oracle and check how it goes…
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
