Reports don't print with Oracle 11g

Post by gerryseidl » 15 Aug 2013, 16:24

I have a great number of reports from 3.1 which have been migrated to 6.1. The TD apps have also been migrated from 3.1 to 6.1. The database was upgraded from Oracle 8i to Oracle 11g. The reports work fine when running with the old 8i database, but they hang on the print dialog when connected to 11g.

I tried this with Oracle 9 and 10 client. I uploaded my sql.ini since I think this might be client/connection related.

Please help!!

You probably have a better chance getting help if you moved this topic out of "TD5.2 and Older", and into one of the other forums for TD6.1.

We have report templates that have survived, untouched, migrations from TD2.1 to TD5.2, and migrations from Oracle 7 to 11g, without any hiccups, and without any changes to SQL.INI, other than "pointing" to new entries in TNSNAMES.ORA

Are ALL of your reports giving you problems? If any are working fine, what is the difference between those and others that don't work?

You might want to create a basic report to make sure reporting works at all, and then take one of your non-working reports and remove bits and pieces until you figure out which bit/piece is causing you problems.

Unless it is a TD6.1 issue resolved by some service pack...
