Hi, i was running some test with ODBC and OLEDB, in both TD 5.2 and TD 4.1. We are updating our software from TD 4.1 to TD 5.2.
While i was running the test in TD 4.1, i get the following error "Err No: 8016". The more strange is that, this error doesn't always occur, sometimes it appears and sometimes it doesn't!
The error is the next:
"Err No: 8016 :The incoming tabular data stream (TDS) remote procedure call (RPC) protocol stream is incorrect. Parameter 5 (""): Data type 0x63 has an invalid data length or metadata length.; "
Others expiriences?
Somebody knows how can i resolve it?
Attached the app test.
Thanks in advance.

Re: [TD 4.1] Err No: 8016
Hi,
I have exactly the same behaviour in my application.
Sometimes, this error appears, and when you retry some minutes later, it works perfectly.
Did somebody has find an issue to this problem?
Thx

Re: [TD 4.1] Err No: 8016
What's the title of the error msg. box? "Err No: ..." is not the format for a SQL Error. And the "TDS" and "RPC" references are not part of TD?
Could this be a network issue? I tried the attached test case from 2010 with TD v5.1 and MS SS 2005, used ODBC and it ran OK.
NICO -- if you have more info. I recommend you add it. No, no solution, and I am not sure where the problem msg. box is coming from.
Hmmm, did anyone google: sql server error 8016
I just did and found this: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums ... b7400ed499
That should help solve this mystery
