ORACLE 12

Post by e.russo » 02 Apr 2021, 13:03

Hi,

I have an application in 6.3.9 version.
My application runs on ORACLE server version 11 (client 11.2.0.4).
Now I need to migrate in ORACLE server version 12 (client 12.1.0.1) for some customers.

When I read database colums VARCHAR2 length between 255 and 2000 I have an error: "Error 210 Invalid long field number".
The application uses long string variable but with Oracle client 12.1.0.1 it needs string variable (with oracle client 11.2.0.4 it needs long string variable).
If I use ORACLE12 with client 11.2.0.4 it works.

In TD documentation:
"Team Developer 6.2 SP1 is certified using Oracle 12c. TD applications are tested using Oracle 11.2 client with Oracle 12c database"

Team developer 6.3 is certified using Oracle12, but with which client version?
Any solution?

Thanks

Enrico
