Unofficial TD 7.x Forum Bug List (16-Feb-2024)
Hi All,
Here's the unofficial TD 7.x Forum Bug List spreadsheet, updated through to TD-26991, including the Fix List for 7.5.2. New items (with bug numbers) raised on the forums since the last upload are highlighted in bold text - all were fixed in 7.5.2.
Let me know if you find any errors or omissions and I'll fix them in the next update.
Cheers and Enjoy!

Re: Unofficial TD 7.x Forum Bug List (16-Feb-2024)
Huge Thank-You !!!
I'm still developing with TD5.2, we don't pay for yearly support, and I only ever upgrade TD when it hurts too much not to (or, simply, I find very good reason to trouble myself with an upgrade.)
Until the bugs in a version of TD have mostly been ironed out, I will not even look at it. I've always appreciated your efforts maintaining a bug list, but I now find your bug list an invaluable resource since the official forum's lock-down to exclusivity (i.e. available only to yearly support subscribers.)
Little blessings like this gift of yours sure make it easier to trudge along. (In the daily grind, I mean. Team Developer, regardless of version and thankfully, keeps me otherwise very light on my feet!)
Much appreciated, Terry.
Cheers !

Charlie,
We still develop with 2.1 although we have 3 licenses for 5.2. It was unusable for us - we tried a lot but ridiculous errors kept coming up.
Cheers!

FR -- you wrote that
TD v5.2, in my opinion, was among the most stable of the pre-v6.x TDs. It was certainly so for a long time because of the Unicode/double-byte et al enhancements as part of that release (v5.1 wasn't that stable). TD v4.2 was the best of the pre-Unicode versions, again in my opinion. And the 'vintage' TDs as I think of them were 2.1, 4.2, 5.2.
If you don't have v5.2 SP4 or SP5 installed then I suggest you get it (somehow). I say 'somehow' because I just went to the old Downloads page:
https://support.guptatechnologies.com/s ... _Downloads
to check that SP5 is available and get this error "500 - Internal server error." when clicking on the SP5 Patch link. None of the 5.x - 6.x versions are accessible from the 'outside' any longer on that Downloads page, it doesn't seem. You can click the Older Releases of 4.1 and older and those links seem to work.
That's surprising to read, especially if you downloaded the latest v5.2 SP's, like 4 or 5, from the Gupta Downloads area. Among the possible reasons for "ridiculous errors" is not saving your earlier TD code -- like 2.1 -- to text format first before reading into 5.2. This version is/was very stable in my opinion. I'd used that version to co-write Q back in the day and we used Q development with v5.2 to help 'wring out' (that is, test and debug) early v5.2, including its initial release (I'd started writing Q in v5.1 in latter 2008) and likely a later release of 5.2 like SP1 or SP2.5.2... was unusable for us

Re: Unofficial TD 7.x Forum Bug List (16-Feb-2024)
I've been working with TD5.2 SP3 since 2012.
Back in late 2011 and early 2012, I evaluated all of the following to figure out best bet for upgrading from TD2.1PTF1:
TD5.2SP3 has been rock solid. I'm going to need a good reason to upgrade. Eventual rollout of Windows 10 might be the trigger.
Cheers !

Actually I used everything including TD-52SP5-PATCH-9702 but when I could use Sqlbase, I couldn't use Sqlserver and vice versa.

Say no more. That would be a show-stopping wedgie for this kid too.
