XSAL2 & 7.3

Post by mark.keogh » 20 May 2022, 06:21

Don't suppose anyone out there has managed to get XSAL2 working from source for TD 7.3 at all?

Ok radio silence on that, so does anyone have xsal2_32.dll working in 7.3 by whatever means they used to get there?

I'm not aware of working XSAL on newer TD 7.x versions.
There are two ways to get it
  • Build your own version using the sources:
    https://samples.tdcommunity.net/index.p ... rch_mode=f
  • (maybe) Patch existing XSAL dll's using hex editor and replace cdlliXX.dll to cdlli73.dll
But then you need a XSAL TD 5.x and higher version. Patching ANSI XSAL will not work for sure.
The source installer contains a 62 folder having XSAL for TD 6.2, so you can use that as base.
Best is to get rid of XSAL as this is not supported anymore and replace it with native features or using other means.

What parts of XSAL do you need?
Maybe we can find better ways to implement them in TD.

Yeah that's what I thought. They built us a 6.3 version but not surprisingly said no to a 7.3 version so I hex edited it to get it working but was unsure if anyone had got the source compiling.

Anyway it's behaving as far as I can see
