Crash after reading LONG VARCHAR from SB 11.6.1

Post by Peter.Hugk » 01 Nov 2011, 12:09

There is a memory allocation problem with a Long String bind variable after reading a LONG VARCHAR in TD 5.2.-SP4. A compiled EXE does not show the long string value and will crash immediately after the call of SqlFetchNext(). The IDE will crash on exit.

Read the Table LONGTEST into the ISLAND database and run the Longtext2.apt to reproduce.

This may have something to do with the content of the sample table. But the same content is running well with this APT if reading the LONG VARCHAR from SQLBase 7.0.1.

Hi Peter,

Yes, I can reproduce this. When I ran in debug, I got an error 'Not enough memory' right after the fetch. Other times it crashes on close.

Not sure if this is a TD or SQLBase issue.

I will investigate further.

Best regards,

Mike
