We just moved to 11.7PTF4 on Linux (from 11.5); When trying to run backup snapshot as before (from a Windows Client), following error occurs for every database:
12012 CFO DBS Cannot get database size for testing
Remedy: This is an internal error which should not occur. Call your service representative. (sic!)
We urgently need a solution for this, as we cannot work without backup!

12012 CFO DBS Cannot get database size for testing
Re: 12012 CFO DBS Cannot get database size for testing
I've responded in the SB12 forum. We are working on this issue.
A couple of things to try:
1. If using 'on server' option, try 'on client' option and vice-versa.
2. Are you doing a segmented backup? That's the only reason that I could see that it would be looking at the file size to see if the segments are sufficient.
3. There are other ways to back up your database. You can shut down the SQLBase server and copy the database folders manually. Not an ideal situation, but at least you have a backup.
4. Do you have logbackup on? If not, turn it on and then try a sequence of:
backup database...;
release log;
backup logs...;
Did this produce the same error?
Best regards,
