TD-22002: UPDATE statement truncates long ints to 8 digits

Post by WAS » 21 Aug 2014, 09:35

Hi,

I am using TD 6.2 SP2 DB MS Access through ODBC.

As an example I created a table called TEST_TAB ( ID char(255), CONTENT long int ) with 3 rows:

"A", 0
"B", 0
"C", 0

Code: Select all

Set _nMyCONTENT = 1234567890
Set _sMySTATEMENT =  'update TEST_TAB set CONTENT=:_nMyCONTENT where ID=:_sMyID'
Call SqlPrepare( hSql, _sMySTATEMENT )
Set _sMyID = 'A'
Call SqlExecute( hSql )
Set _sMyID = 'B'
Call SqlExecute( hSql )
Set _sMyID = 'C'
Call SqlExecute( hSql )
calling 3 times SqlExecute() TEST_TAB looks like this:

"A", 1234567890
"B", 12345678
"C", 12345678

What happened to row 2 and 3? This appears first in TD 6.x. Previous TD (<=5.2) work fine.

Best regards,

Wolfgang

Hi, Wolfgang.

Did you ever have a reply on your post. Or how did you worked around this misbehaviour? We're waiting since weeks for any reaction or Fixing and had to recode our whole application when migrating to TD6.x. You can imagine how performance become worse while preparing the statements each and every loop before executing - the only way we found to pass this elementary defect.
I hope that our attached samples help to Support your Report.
Apps are written in TD3.1 and should be run also with 6.x for comparison - so don*t save before compiling in TD62.
We're are using postgreSQL.

Regards, Thomas.

Hi Wolfgang:

I was able to reproduce the issue on MS Access and I've logged a defect: TD-22002.

BTW, I was not able to reproduce it on SQL Server.

Thanks for the information.

Best Regards,
Victor Espinal
