Using Report Builder 4.0.0, Build 13721 on an XP sp2 client attempting to connect to a SQL Server 2005 database. I get a "Select buffer is too small" error using the standard SQL Server ODBC Error and using the SQL Server 2005 Native Client ODBC the database doesn't even get listed. This database was restored from a SQL Server 2000 backup and Report Builder 4.0 continues to work fine with SQL Server 2000.
The process:
Launch Report Builder 4.0 (repbi40.exe)
Report - Define Query (or click the 'Define Query' icon)
Select Microsoft SQL Server as the Source
Select a SQL Server 2005 database
Enter a valid user and password
The application works with the DB/User/pwd combination - only Report Builder is balking.
What am I missing?

This has been reported directly to Tech Support as well and I'm just updating the thread.

Hello,
I'm getting this same message today as I try to use report builder.
Has there been a fix released?
