Hi,

we use components by /n Software: IP Works 6.0 (ActiveX). Though I never
tried the SNMP component, I guess it'd be really simple to use. They also
provide a demo version for download: www.nsoftware.com.

gerhard

Yury,

as I said, I never used the SNMP component.
Have you looked at the samples they provide? Have you checked their FAQs?

I used the POP, SMTP, MIME, Netcode, FTP, TCP and UDP components. I can
create an example of these, if they are helpful to you as well.

gerhard.

P.S.: From their VBA samples (demos.htm in the installation directory):
SNMP Agent
A simple SNMP agent that will respond and implement SNMP manager requests
for system information. The Agent also shows how to broadcast traps.

SNMP Manager
Shows how to create a basic SNMP manager that will find and query SNMP
agents for their system information. The manager will also react to SNMP
traps.

Dear Gerhard,

Thanks a lot for your assistance, but I never used before the COM objects
from TD.
I have look for the samples and checked his FAQs, and I uderstand what I
need to do.
But, if you can provide any examples for MIME, TCP/UDP, etc - Thank you

PS: Recollect yourself when you only started something to do. :-)

Thanks in advance,

Hi Yury,

attached find, as promised, a very basic example of how to use the UDP
component of "/n Software IPWorks! V6".

What the sample does is sending a broadcast message to the local subnet, so
you'll have to compile it into an executable and start it on two different
machines. Don't forget to do also copy and register (regsvr32) the
"udppor60.ocx" provided by "/n Software" (should be part of their demo).

As for TD COM objects usage, there are several basic steps:
- ensure that the component is registered in your system (should be done by
setup or manually by i.e. "regsvr32 udppor60.ocx")
- use "Tools" - "ActiveX Explorer" to generate a function library for the
component ("_n software - IPWorks! V6 UDPPort Control.apl")
- if you need to process COM events, create a derived class from the COM
class you need (see the "SalMessageBox" call in the sample)
(-since IPWorks uses standard ActiveX licensing / copy protection, you'll
have to place the visual control somewhere on your form, otherwise you'd get
the demo messagebox. You could use the visual control instead of the COM
Proxy class, in this case.).

Hope this will help you,

gerhard.
