Crystal Reports 10 Embedable Design Control and Viewer

Has anybody have a sample to use the Crystal Reports RDC and Viewer active x
that comes with Centura. I am working with both active x's but constantly
get oledb's errors related to the variant required by the functions in the
activex to set the report source. I have attempted in the creation of a new
report or opening an existing rejport the result is the same.
I thought the variant.SetObject might be incorrect but it does not work with
none of the variants available for use. The code that I have used for the
new report is below and is very similar to the one for existing report.
Does anybody has an idea of what is it that I am doing wrong?

ActiveX: axCRViewer10
Class: AX_CrystalActiveXReportViewerLib10_CrystalActiveXReportViewer
ActiveX: CRDesignerCtrl1
Class: AX_CRDESIGNERCTRLLib10_CRDesignerCtrl10

ComProxyVar: crCrystal10
Class: CRAXDDRT_Application
ComProxyVar: crCrystal10Report
Class: CRAXDDRT_Report
FunctionalVar: vVariant
Class: Variant
FunctionalVar: vOptional
Class: Variant

Pushbutton: pbNew

Background Color: Class Default
Message Actions
On SAM_Click
Call crCrystal10.Create()
Call crCrystal10Report.Create()
Call crCrystal10.NewReport(crCrystal10Report)
Call vVariant.SetObject(crCrystal10Report)
! PropSetDisplayRulers
Call CRDesignerCtrl1.PropSetReportObject(vVariant)
Call axCRViewer10.PropSetReportSource(vVariant)
Call axCRViewer10.Zoom(1)
Call axCRViewer10.ViewReport()

Pete,

Tried it (Trial) and quickly turned my attention to List&Lable instead.

Thanks Kriss,

Where can I find List&Lable. Although, we have a ton of reports in crystal
that we will like to integrate into Centura developement. All I have found
in the newsgroups and else is old stuff that does not meet our needs.
ActiveX programming with Centura is a nightmare specially when it comes to
Crystal. Did you get anywhere at all with the crystall thing?

Hi Pete,

https://www.combit.net/de/default.asp?content=/de/shop/content.asp

try the demo first (30 days)

600+ ? but well worth the money
online buy or cd (not much more expensive)

english or german version, lots of goodies for a
wealth of programming languages VB .Net Gupta

Dont forget to set the licence key before deploying
with clients

because of guptas activeX wrapping techneque
one must/might want to unwrap it like this:

!!CB!! 278
Function: LlPrintFieldWrapper
Description:
Returns
Number:
Parameters
Static Variables
Local variables
Number: nReturn
Actions
Call ax1.LlPrintFields( nReturn )
Return nReturn

Then the "normal" logic applies

I built my function from the VB samples

any questions I can answer by private mail

Hello Krister,

I' m, also using List& Label
I am trying to integrate the RTF-Editor ActiveX in my app but it always
crashes. Calling the Editor as an external window works
any experience or ideas?

thanks
Matthias

Should also be mentioned, that the Designer of List & Label is FREE, which
means that one (unlimited) List & Label license is cheaper than two
Reportbuilder Licenses, AFAIK.

In times of product activation this might be of interest

Regards,

gerhard.
