Hi Andreas,
did you have a look at fetcher web site ? It sounds like fetcher cancelled
the contract (at least that's what google translated) !!

But I did not get why they did ? If some german-speaking can add something
!! Maybe Martin (or was he part of the Gupta contract <g) ?

Ciao

Mirko,

I guess google hasn't done a good job; It translate like "...as we were
informed today by our customers, GUPTA Technologies has sent a document
dated 2005-06-30 to our customers, concerning the cancellation of the
partnership with fecher. fecher has also received a letter regarding the
cancellation of their partnership."

So I guess it was Gupta who cancelled the contract.

Regards,

gerhard.

Everything is explained on the fecher website www.fecher.de ....(in german
of course)

Here in my words...
Fecher is now offering service for porting SAL to .NET (Iceporter from
iceteagroup), because this market grows and the Gupta market decreases and
they want to participate in this market. (to grow or keep their business
volumne )
The partner (fecher) now helps to decrease the Gupta market and so it is a
logical consequence that Gupta has canceled the partnership.

fecher has trouble because he offers tools for porting SAL to Microsoft
.NET.

if fecher would offer a tool from .Net to SAL, Gupta would be happy. but i
think there isn´t any tool for migration to SAL. why - nobody wants it.

if fecher would offer a tool for migrating from Gupta Web-Developer to
Microsoft ASPX, i think Gupta would be very very happy ;-))

I've spoken with some fecher-people the recent days, for me i knew the
fecher point of view before opening this thread. My intention to make the
initial posting was to get a statement from some GUPTA-Folx about the
mid-range future of GUPTA at the european market.

Since the sale of Gupta to WARP, the marketing team has been beefed up a
bit. But growing their market is a 2 edged sword. If they succeed in
expanding their market to the point where it gets the attention of Microsoft
and/or Oracle, will those companies buy or bury Gupta? They certainly have
the resources to do either.
