SQLWindows App on Win2000

Hi,

we got problems with a SQLWindows-Application under Windows 2000
which uses SPX/IPX with NetBIOS.

AFAIK I need the MS LANACFG.EXE to configure NetBIOS under W2K.
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q138/0/37.asp?LN=DE&SD=SO&F
R=0

Download from the MS windowsupdate site don't works. :-(
Did anybody else solved that problem and can send me LANACFG.EXE?

Or is there any other workaround?

TIA,
Joachim Engel

Is this 16-bit or 32-bit? If 16-bit I would recommend that you upgrade.

Hi Jon,

it is 16-bit and no chance to upgrade, because of a 16-bit third party
component.
At the moment there is no money for a complete redesign of this application.

There must be a way, perhaps TCP/IP instead of SPX/IPX?

TIA,

I would certainly recommend to swich to TCP/IP if you can.

Playing with SPX/IPX on M$ plateforms seems too much of a headache to me ...

Roger

Hi Roger,

...

worked without headache on Win95/NT before.

Since TCP/IP is the favourite hacker protocol
and SPX/IPX works without configuration
SPX/IPX has been a good choice ...

Do I need NetBIOS on TCP/IP?

TIA,
