How come on google search I can go all the way back to 1998, but in the news
group I can't get past March 13th 2001. Considering that this is the only
place you can get examples and Google doesn't have the attachments it is
really sad.

There was a server crash and Centura found out that their backup procedures
were a bit inadequate. Sorry about that.

I use Virtual Access for off-line reading, and have pretty much got
every file since 1998 ( it automatically downloads them! ) If you want
anything, I'll mail it to you.

It seems to be 47mb of UUEncoded files intermingled with the text of
the actual message. I don't have the time at the moment to do anything
with it, I don't know if there's a bulk UUdecoder anywhere, but wuill
gladly dump onto CD for someone else to have a look at.

Hi Pete

Can you send a CD to me at the address below and I'll see what I can do.
We already have an archive of the Centura newsgroups from April 1997 to
September 2000 at
but most of the attachments have been stripped from the messages.
