Automatically allign pasted objects to grid when designing windows

Hi !

I can't really understand why this is not happening although the option
"Active" is checked under "Grid" on the tab "Presentation" in the
preferences dialog.

When I copy objects like background texts or data fields etc. from one form
to another they are not aligned to the grid when I paste them. Each time I
have to select "Align to grid" from the "Layout" menu. This should happen
automatically when the grid is set to "Active".

Another thing which is quite annoying: in the original form the background
text is correctly alligned with the corresponding data field. When pasted
and then alligned to grid, the background text snapps down in the grid, the
data field snapps up, so that I have to realign these two objects again
(i.e. horizontally center them, as they were in the original form). BTW: I
set the grid height and width to "1" in the preferences. This down/up-snapp
effect does not happen if I set these values to "2". However they still are
not alligned to grid.

I would really like to see this as a feature in a new release.

Thanks,
Stefan

You are right, this is one of the many annoying things in TD.

Another ist, that copying commented source code from one TD to an other
instance of TD, the text becomes "double" commented.

Please correct both of this in the next PTF for TD 2.1.

Is there going to be another PTF for 2.1?
How about fixing the problem with the registry. Its adding hundreds of
entries to the registry.

I don't think so, because Gupta only fixes the last two releases which are
3.0 and 3.1. But I would like to have a fix for TD 2.1!
