First off, I am most grateful for the addition of the Ctrl+F hotkey for find
and Ctrl+R hotkey for replace in TD 3.1. This will save everyone
considerable time. Many thanks for adding this.
Of course, beggars are choosers, so I have a few additional tweaks I think
would make us all more productive in the IDE:
- Change the replace hotkey to the standard Ctrl+H. The use of H has never
seemed logical to me, but it's the standard. It's used in many other
applications, so people instinctively use it in the TD IDE. I've looked
through most of the menus and cannot find any use of Ctrl+H, so I'm not sure
why it wasn't used. It's quite possible I missed something.
- Automatically copy the selected code into the find and replace windows
when the user opens one of those. I cannot tell you how much time this has
saved me in MS Visual Studio.
I think both changes are relatively simple effort wise and would increase
the productivity of all SAL developers.

Also I would like Find/Replace dialog to be enhanced so that there should be
option whether the Find/Replace string should look into Commented code or
This would also save a lot of time.

I think this is an excellent suggestion. I often run into the same issue.
This would definitely improve productivity.

To have a definite improvement, I'd also suggest having a short look at
popular Text Editors, like "UltraEdit". These usually support excellent
features in that dialog, especially "match whole word" would also be a great
improvement (not to mention "regular expressions"!).
