Forgot to mention:

Note that beside the mentioned known issues you'll have to create your own
toolbar in the Report Builder print preview when using XP styles (the Gupta
Toolbar won't work then). The mentioned limitation regarding the
"cDesktopListbox" can be solved by specifying the QuickObject DLL property
of the appropriate class.

Thanks a lot for all the help. I am almost there but I am unable to get the
Report Window toolbar buttons to appear when XP style is ON. How can I make
the Report window buttons appear normal ?

Since the manifest file is of global nature I could not work out how to
exclude report window from XP Style ? IF I can somehow get over this problem
I can persuade my manager to move our application to XP Style. Any help will
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Hi,

simply create your own preview window & toolbar, containing a button for
each RPT_Cmd... command. Should be solved in just a few minutes of work.

gerhard.

thank you gerhard

Our application is a fully grown one and we cannot change calls to
SalReportView in the whole application to use our preview window. Also for
writing a preview window should I use quickreport custom control ?

Gerhard,

I have done all this, except I would like a datafield that has the
current page, and one that has the total pages, which I can only figure
out if I have scrolled through them all.

Is there a way of figuring out the final page when the report first opens?

Hi,

create a function "MyReportView" that creates the preview form and then
calls "SalReportView". This way, you'll be able to do a simple "search and
replace".

Also take a look at my posting in forum.advanced.programming titled "Re:
Manifest file - Report - Windows XP" from Sep. 20th, 2004. There is an
example of how to create that form - no quickreport, no custom control, no
special things at all - just pure SAL code.

gerhard.

Hi,

use the "SAM_ReportNotify" messages that Gupta provides. We count the pages
when "RPT_DonePageFooter" is sent.

gerhard.

Hi gerherd,

Thanks for your patience.

I am sorry but I could not find the post you mentioned. My outlook express
shows posts from only this year. Would you be able to kindly post the source
code again ? It would really be a great help to me.

Thanks once again
