How to reduce connecting time to wrong database?

When we connect to wrong database (or wrong username or password),
Sqlconnect function has to wait for some seconds before it retuns an error.
There is a way to reduce this time?

TIA.

Hello chris,

Yes, don't connect to the wrong database or with the fales or empty Sql
variables! ;-)

seriously, the delay in oracle is 10-13 seconds

Sqluser, we get the user name from windows. GetUserName(...)
Sql Password, well, the user must remember his or her password
SqlDataBase, this we store in sql.ini and retrieve to list in a combobox
for the user to chose from (with the most likely database as default)

In my humble opinion, there is no way of shortening the timeout
and it is there for the protection of the database I think,
preventing brute force attacks.

Regards, Kriss
