Can Centura forcibly alter a users screen resolution?

Hi all, our apps are built on a 1024x768 machine, and most users would have
this configuration. However i have changed one of the pc's resolutions to a
possible 800x600 and tried the application. Strangely, the applications do
not scale correctly, buttons and borders are misaligned and the result is
unuseable.

What is the recommended way of providing an application that is compatible
with at the very least, 1024x768 and 800x600 ? (without re-writing the
application preferably :)

Can a Centura application change the deployed pc's screen resolution to a
standed 1024x768 at runtime ? Such as many games etc will do ?

Thanks..

Tom,

you should think twice before changing the screen resolution. However if you
really like to do it, search for my posting
"Switching a CTD-Application to fullscreen" in forum.sourcecode. You will
find some sample code there...

Hi Tom,

we have Gupta applications running on all resolutions
from 800x600 higher and on all Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP.
Currently using CTD 1.5.1 + PTF6.
We do no special handling for resizing. The only problem,
we encountered, was font setting in Windows (display
properties - appearance - font size). If we set windows
font to any other than "Normal", form windows are distorted.
In "Normal" mode, everything works fine.
