Dear NG,

has anyone experiences with the new version of SQL Server 2008?
We can´t pass Date/Time-Values in bind variables to or from a data base.
Currently we use the Katmai-CTP-pre release version. Is there a hope that
this behaviourr will change?

"behaviourr will change" - I doubt it, since D/Ts vary widely among
datatbases, and incombatibility has been, over the years, a source of lots
of frustration. Here's what I know and have done:

-- This is also a current issue on the Unify forum with MySql as the
backend, so the issue is with other DBs as well;

-- It has also been a general issue on this forum in the past, so I would
suggest a search of this area, sourcecode, development, etc. to see what
issues/solutions others have come up with when trying to use D/Ts in TD
against a foreign DB (that is, other than SQLBase);

-- I once helped a client support D/T for Oracle's timestamp by using a
correctly-formatted string as the bind, just searched for any msgs. in this
NG area from me and see that there are several during January 16-18, 2008,
including some code samples. Take a look there and see how it got handled.
You may need to do something similar for SS.

As to how specifically to support SQL Server 2008, I don't know, but perhaps
there are a couple hints for you above and what else you find on the NG.

Best Regards,

I haven't tested sql 2k8.
I have just downloaded the rc0 , normaly I do some test in july.
I hope that the reactivity of Unify will be better than with the datetime
problem with Mysql
