Hello,

we are currently using our Programm on WinXP with the mailing client Outlook
Express.
Everything works like a charm using the Centura DLL (e.g. MAILi31.dll in
Centura 3.1 PTF4)
When we move to Server 2008 which comes with windows live mail the function
"MailConnect" won't work anymore.
(The same is true on Vista)

What do you use to send mails via your programs?
Third Party-Software? If so which one?

Has anyone written a interface to Windows live mail?

If you only want to send email and if using the SMTP protocol is ok for you,
you can use the SMTP/WINSOCK library written by Stefan Beltrame. We use this
in a 7x24 application which sends hundreds of mails each day. Search for
posts with topic "SMTP".

Note: Depending on your network configuration you may have to reduce the
packet size in this implementation.

Rainer

Im not sure what this library is capable to do.
What i need is to send an email with attachments and a given useraccount to
on ore more emailadresses since on a terminalserver all acounts from all
useres are stored.
Furthermore our Customers want to see the allready sent emails in their
"sent box" from Outlook Express/Windows Live Mail.

Hi Ingo,

Attachements are possible.
Given sender address is possible.
Send to one or more email-adresses is possible.
See the sent eMail in the sentbox is not possible (due to SMTP). But perhaps
it is sufficient to send the eMails CC to this account.

An other way is to use CDO (ActiveX for Outlook). This should do what you
want.

Rainer
