GuptaPro & CenturaPro newsletters and source found!

Post by Jeff Luther » 29 Mar 2007, 22:00

To all:

At one time, Gupta and CenturaPro had a SQLWindows/Centura Newsletter which ran
from February, 1996 to April, 2000. This was a well put-together and informative
monthly publication that dealt with tips, tricks, and coding techniques for earlier
versions of the TD product.

What with Gupta's name and URL changes, however, and the removal of their backissues
page some time ago, access to the the archive of these newsletters (PDF files and
ZIP source code) appeared to have been lost.

Not so! With some ftp link corrections to a copy I kept of Gupta's backissues page,
I find that the PDFs and available ZIPs of the source code are still available on
their web site.

I've put a corrected version of Gupta's original backissues page on my own site:

http://www.jeffluther.net/gupta/Gupta%2 ... chives.htm

https://samples.tdcommunity.net/index.p ... enturaPro/

and suggest you have a look at it. While some of the info. and links are no longer
up-to-date, a lot of useful information is still available.

Be sure you are aware that all I am doing is making this material again available.
Full credit goes to the editor Mark Hunter and ProPublishing (now defunct), and to
all the writers and coders who over that 4+ year span put together a classy and
informative publication.

Best Regards,
Jeff @ PC Design

You're welcome, Tom! I should have also mentioned that the ITG still has
its archive of the TeaTalk issues available on their site as well. I
have a page with links and descriptions for each year's issues (2001-2006),
here: http://www.jeffluther.net/gupta/ITG-TeaTalkPastIssues.htm

Lots of good info. going to waste if folks aren't aware of it. ALL YOU
NEWBIES: these are good resources for helping you get up to speed on TD!

Perfect. I like to read all kinds of stuff related to TD, you are
never too clever to learn more and there are very nice articles to be
found.

Thanks for pointing to the resources.

Dave
