Drag and drop from Outlook
Drag and drop from Outlook
There's a way to do a drag and drop from an application other than explorer without using external components and without intermediate step (with a preliminary drop of a folder)?
Such as from an outlook email or attachment?
Thanks

Re: Drag and drop from Outlook
I don't think that there is a way to do this without external components. I have a attached a dll for TD 62 that works with msg-files, msg-attachments, outlook contacts and files from file-system (esp. eml-files from thunderbird). Restriction: It doesn't work for E-Mail attachments that are signed with a digital signature.

HTH,
When it receives a file drop in a PC that does not have installed a mail client appear a warning message similar to "No default mail client." there is a way to avoid it?
Thanks

Hi Enrico,
I have versions for TD74 x64 and x86. For the moment I don't have the time to install TD75. I will do this in first half of June.

Hi Uwe,,
TD74 x64 would also be nice. I'm a beginner with TD x64 and I would like to test with it.

after a takeover of my company I'm not allowed to share the source code. But if you run the sample just drag & drop something from Win Explorer or Outlook into the form und you should understand the sourcecode. I think in 1-2 weeks I can provide a version for TD 7.5.

Re: Drag and drop from Outlook
Not strange. This the case for any elevated process since Windows Vista onward. When you run a program as administrator, this is an elevated privilege program. The ability to drag and drop from a non elevated application to an elevated one would break the security model behind UAC.I took of that checkbox "Run as administrator" and then sample works. Strange :S...
If you e.g. start Outlook as administrator, you cannot add a file from Explorer as an attachment either.

oops, I accidentally edited Riuks post here with my admin rights, wanted to quote, sorry. The quote is from Riuks, the answer is from me (Uwe van der Horst).
