Application created w/t4.2 fails to run after td5.1 install

Post by dhabbershaw » 11 Jan 2008, 23:20

After installing the evaluation versiov of td5.1 and before even executing it, I tried to run my td4.2 application and received a message "MSVCR80.DLL missing". Before the installation, in c:\windows\winsxs, I find three references to x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_...
The first two have 3 dlls, dated 9/23/2005 and 6/5/2006 respectivly, and the third is empty. After installation the third reference also has 3 dlls dated, 12/1/2006. I can't find any references in the registry. Can anybody tell me what's going on?

Can you see if the TD5.1 directory has been put in the PATH statement before your TD4.2 directory? You might move that further down in the path to see if that helps.

The path reads:

C;\Program Files\Unify\Team Developer 5.1\axis2c.lib;
C:\program Files\Unify\Team Developer 5.2;
C:\Program Files\Gupta\Team developer 2005.1;
C:\Centura\Samples;
C:\Centura;
C:\ windows stuff
C:\Program Files\Gupta\TDDeployer 2005.1;
C:\Program Files\Unify\Team Developer 5.1\Samples;
C:\Program Files\Gupta\Team Developer 2005.1\Samples;

I'll move the TD5.1 references to after the td4.2 & give that a try. I'll let you know.

That did the trick. Thanks a million.

Hi

This is known the cause is related to SWOSUTIL.DLL non uniqueness of versions on your environment.

Cheers
