attached find, as promised, a very basic example of how to use the UDP
component of "/n Software IPWorks! V6".
What the sample does is sending a broadcast message to the local subnet, so
you'll have to compile it into an executable and start it on two different
machines. Don't forget to do also copy and register (regsvr32) the
"udppor60.ocx" provided by "/n Software" (should be part of their demo).
As for TD COM objects usage, there are several basic steps:
- ensure that the component is registered in your system (should be done by
setup or manually by i.e. "regsvr32 udppor60.ocx")
- use "Tools" - "ActiveX Explorer" to generate a function library for the
component ("_n software - IPWorks! V6 UDPPort Control.apl")
- if you need to process COM events, create a derived class from the COM
class you need (see the "SalMessageBox" call in the sample)
(-since IPWorks uses standard ActiveX licensing / copy protection, you'll
have to place the visual control somewhere on your form, otherwise you'd get
the demo messagebox. You could use the visual control instead of the COM
Proxy class, in this case.).
Hope this will help you,
