Gupta Report Builder 6.2 Keep On Page problem

Post by rostomer » 17 Dec 2018, 10:28

i have big reports with different lines, that can't be shorted and i need to keep the information on one page, so i decided to use Keep On Page in Footer Properties. and i have a problem: too much information breaks the whole page, so when i try to print it i see only white paper, also it takes additional pages and gives it a number.

Couple thoughts for you, rostomer:
1 -- I see my TD v6.2 is SP3r, so make sure you have the latest version. (I tried looking on Dave R's WIKI site to find the latest SP for each TD version and could not find it, so I don't know if SP3r is the latest version or not for 6.2.)

2 -- You wrote: "when i try to print it i see only white paper" -- you mean there is no text printed at all? If so, that sounds like a bug. with Keep On Page Footer set I would expect RB to print what it could of your long text, enough to fit on 1 page.
SUGGESTION: Put a small TD/QRP test together in v6.2 with a field trying to set too much text for the field. We can try it and also in v6.3 TD to see if it at least prints what it can on the Footer.

3 -- Question for you: What would you want ReportBuilder (RB) to do for text which is too large to fit in a field? That is, how should it behave?
"too much information breaks the whole page" -- Yes, that is what I would expect.
"also it takes additional pages and gives it a number." -- Odd about the 'number' issue you mention. A small test case that you write, zip and attach to your reply here, might give us a chance to better understand this issue.

Thank you very much, Jeff. i have the following problem: (link to my qrp file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1d191vj ... sp=sharing).

Header "Grup" must be printed on all pages, next "Detail Block" has keep on page property, it must be printed right after Header "Grup" , and Footer "Grup" goes after it. it has Keep On Page too. how the problem looks if i have such amount of the information, that doesn't take all the space on page, but it doesn't have space to print Footer "Grup", i expect that new page will apperar with Header "Grup", which must be on all pages and with Footer "Grup". but i get an empty white page and page with Footer "Grup" and without a "hat" (Header "Group").
this is how normal page looks. http://prntscr.com/m0xzib link in case if image doesn't loading

this is empty page

this is presentation of page with bug

i hope this time i described my problem a bit better

I try to keep the WIKI page up-to-date with the latest info on Team Developer versions.
(when there is info missing or info is wrong, please let me know)
