Select text in datafield

Hello!

I have seen that it should be possible to select text, which is contained in a date field in TD5.2. How would you do that? Does it include sending a message to that datafield using SalSendMsg function?
I tried looking for the messages, that this function can send but found only few. Any help would be appreciated, my solution requires me to autoselect text contained in a data field.
